Starting next year the Graduated Licencing System is being changed.
1. The waiting period for the new drivers in G1 level is going to be increased to 18 months from 12 months.
2. New drivers will get a time discount of 6 month on completion of the Ministry Approved Course.
3. The waiting period in G2 level is also being increased fron 12 months to 18 Months.
4. There will not be any time discount for this level.
The other big change in the graduated licencing system is for repeat offenders.
1. who violate the G1/G2/M1/M2 restrictions.
2. Any HTA offence that result in the accumulation of four or more Demerit Points.
Court ordered licence suspension for HTA offence that would have accumulated four Demerit points had the suspension not been ordered.
The driver would receive
1. 30 days licence suspension for the FIRST occurance.
2. 90 days licence suspension for the SECOND occurance.
3. Licence CANCELLATION for the THIRD occurance.
Any fees paid,time spend in the program and BDE credit would be lost when the licence is cancelled.
If these occurance takes place within a 5-year period.
